Joell Ortiz & !llmind have teamed up to create and release what some already consider a hip-hop classic album, HUMAN. The initial recording of HUMAN began in March. Over the course of the following month, Joell Ortiz & !llmind had written and recorded 11 songs which they decided to compile into an album and release on Roseville Music Group. The name HUMAN derives from the idea that this project was as ‘human’ as a music project could get. The month Joell Ortiz & !llmind spent in the studio recording was all about the vibe created and music collaboration between themselves. Nothing more, nothing less.
Joell Ortiz & !llmind are going to be performing their new album, HUMAN, on August 5th at Cervantes’ Other Side. Come out and get down to this spectacular album live!

Ill-Gates, Stephan Jacobs, and Jay Fay have embarked on an epic North American for the months of November and December (and the tail end of October) that is appropriately titled, The Church Of Bass Tour. One of their stops is…you guessed it…Seattle! November 7th is the date that you will be able to experience a sermon like no other. Priest Ill-Gates, Reverend Stephan Jacobs, and Pastor Jay Fay have a church service lined up for you that will rid you of all the sins you’ve racked up while secretly listening to your little brothers bro-step and get you back on the right track and ready to prepare for the world to end in December. I mean…get you back on the right track and properly prepared for the beautiful year of 2013. 2013 will no doubt be stacked with bass, blessed with festivals that are going to go harder than ever, and bring a brand new outlook and appreciation for life from the world.
Accompanying the Church Of Bass Tour in Seattle is Bassdrops local artist, Northstar. Being born and raised in the Seattle area, Northstar is bringing that Pacific North FRESH vibe to the party and is going to get things officially jumpin’ off from the moment doors open. He recently released a mix to get you stoked for the Church Of Bass tour that you’ve got to check out. It’s an hour long with back to back to back club bangers, and is a really nice preview of what you’re going to hear at the party at Rebar on November 7th.
This is gonna be a show you don’t want to miss. See you on the dance floor!
Date : November 7th
Place : Rebar (party from 8pm-2:30am)

Veteran producer, DJ, and all around artist, Paper Diamond has just embarked on a 22 city tour across America that will last until the 9th of November, where The Night Vision tour will come to an end in Salt Lake City, Utah. Accompanying Paper Diamond across the month long tour will be an unforgettable light show consisting of, you guessed it, diamond shaped LED screens. The last three weeks have represented the kick off of Beats Antiques Animale Mechanique tour, which is their fall tour celebrating the release of their new EP entitled Contraption Vol. II. Today is the release date of Contraption Vol. II! For those of you who have been out of the loop the last five years let me fill you in on what you’ve been missing. Beats Antique is a trio leading a growing musical movement that fuses electronic and world music together. They incorporate live instruments such as strings, brass horns, and drums, with elements of glitch-hop and dubstep, creating a sound that is as unique and straight forward as their name. Their live shows are recognized world-wide as some of the most enthusiastic and entertaining performances of our time. Combining live musical performance with choreographed dance incorporated with animal costumes and magnificent lighting, this fall you’ve got the chance to see them in one (or as many as you can afford to travel to) of 35 cities across the US. This is a show you will NOT want to miss. Take a look at the cities down below that are being blessed with the tour and also have a listen to their mixtape they released for the tour!
Here is a 48 minute mix Beats Antique did to kick off the tour!
BO! BO! BO! Here is little promo mix for a party going down at The Attic, in Bristol, from one of the freshest reggae-bass DJ’s in the UK, Cut La Vis. I’m wishing I was able to make it to this…but hey…you can’t be at everything awesome. This mix represents nothing but good vibes, incredible bass, and pure fiyah tunes. Show some love for Cut La Vis and let this 30 minute mix of steppin’ music ring out worldwide before he blesses the sound system at The Attic on June 7th. Big UPs!
LOOT HAS BEEN RELEASED
Filastine, one of the global dance scenes most sought after bass music producers, has just released his 3rd full length album (the first two being Burn It, which was released in 2006 and Dirty Bomb, which was released in 2009) entitled LOOT. Along with this 13 track drum driven piece of art is Filastines latest music video for the song Genjer2, a collaboration he did with one of Indonesia’s finest vocalists and his good friend, Nova. Genjer2 is nothing but pure beauty. The music video, directed by Astu Prasidya, has a rich warm dark feel, and an even richer expression of emotions and one overall message. FREEDOM FOR ALL.
The videos for No Step and Gendjer2 are just a small preview of how incredible LOOT truly is. Words can not describe the beauty and energy put into this album. Do yourself a favor and buy it.
**ATTENTION EVERYONE IN THE NORTH WEST**
Filastine will be performing at Chop Suey on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Sunday in night with Heyoka for his LOOT tour. There are no excuses not to be at this event put on by BassDrop. Support the local bass crews!
Hypnotizing, mesmerizing, and definitely a song for all the ladies in the night scene, Minnesota brings the world another incredible remix. This time it’s of Shotgun Radio’s, A Bad Place, featuring Mimi Page. This track is fucking long! That’s all good though…it gives your head time to dive into the song, come back out, and enjoy every second of it. Minniesota has a powerful style that shares the likeness of fellow purple producers, MartyParty, and Mimosa (all three of whom played multiple times at Burning Man this year), that incorporates a deep driving bassline and a hyper melody. The deadly combination leaves the dance floor filled with an ass shaking crowd of girls. What a beautiful scene. Minnesota is going to be on tour for the next couple months so keep an eye out for a show near you! He brings more energy than than the crowd can handle and will be in Florida, California, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois, Colorado, , Iowa, and yes…Minnesota, until the end of November. The purple take over is on the way!
