Don’t know where to start with this other than Skeptical‘s production is downright next level. The production that is showcased in each of these four tracks is not only motivating to me but should be listened to by all producers and studied. The UK based Dubstep and DnB producer has found the perfect balance of cleanliness and grimeyness in each track.

Truth – Hollow World Album (Preview)

Attention sub stompers and low end listeners the Dubstep don’s by the name of Truth are getting ready to release their full length album entitled Hollow World. The 14 track album, filled through and through with their signature sound across the BPM spectrum, is set to release June 10th on Firepower Records and is sure to do numbers.

The two hailing from New Zealand are some of the most productive and consistent producers in all of bass music, and from the sounds of these previews, they haven’t held back a bit. They’ve collaborated with many different artists and have kept it fresh throughout this deep sub-bass experience by implementing the grimey sounds of Joker and the precisely rhythmic vocals of MC Flowdan to name a few.

Listen through to each of these tracks and take in fresh sounds these two talented guys have provided, and get set to grab it June 10th!

Circula – Deep Data

Ganjaology, Circula

At times I find myself overwhelmed with all the swirling symbols that seem to dictate the movement of the world around me. This language, these numbers. The repetition of bass followed by snare, followed by bass, and again followed by a snare until ultimately it breaks with a crash!

It’s times like these that I find myself immersing in sound. There is great power listening. This ability to find freedom and relaxation through meditating with music has become an important part of my life, and I feel that those reading will probably agree.

The sample that UK soundsystem music creator Circula uses on this track speaks directly to this point. The infamous MF Doom can be heard saying…

You can hear it when you meditate in deep data… It’s the BEAT!

This beat is the rhythm of the universe. It’s the heart, the brain, and the breath. It’s what drives us to collect and create. This beat is the data with which we imagine. We are all attracted to rhythm in one form or fashion. We only differ in how we choose to tune our dials.

After you listen to Deep Data, check out the other tunes from Circula. This is easily some of the headiest garage / 2 step / techno (or whatever you want to call it) that I’ve heard.

Turn up and tune in!

This UK native Circula aka Alfie Brooks resides in limbo between Berlin and Totnes. His loyalties lie with GroundVibes Collective. Check them out here.

Darkstorm – Mind Like Water

Ganjaology, Darkstorm

Mellow hip hop, bordering on UK grime and at times darker, more sinister rhythms – Mind Like Water is a purely original piece of sonic art. From the depths of his being, Abdullah Al-wali aka Darkstorm of London, UK brings us this album brimming with soul and steeping with curiosity toward the darker side of life.

These are the frequencies from which we guard our sleeping children when we sing to them before sending them off into the dream time, where they otherwise might be haunted by the sights and sounds of Adam’s original wife, Lilith. But, as adults we relish in these sounds, that bring us to the edge of awareness…. To that strange place between sleep and dream. Our minds are strange in this way. And so is this music.

Al-wali is the co-founder of Bad Taste Records and also makes music under the alias Lean Low. Check out more from him here. And if you like the album, be sure to buy it direct via Bandcamp here.

Lapalux // Nick Rutter – CHRYSALIS

Ganjaology, Chrysalis, Lapalux, Nick Rutter

UK sound scientist Lapalux has come together with film maker Nick Rutter to bring us a short film that is as disturbing as it is imaginative. The film reflects the score, which is dark and moving with overtones of sadness and grief. The film seems to portray the decay of a young man as he finds that his love does not love him back. Isn’t it wild what love and (lack thereof) can do to a body…

Lapalux soars in his musical composition for the piece. The original tune is called “Gold” and features UK singer Jassy Grez.

If you’re on the West Coast next weekend, Catch Lapalux on this side of the pond at Symbiosis Gathering in Oakdale CA.

Mura Masa & Stooki Sound – “Rvre”

I’ve really been diggin’ music that utilizes spaces, more so than clouding up the tune with sound after sound. This tune really does exactly that, you’ll hear what I mean when the drop comes. The UK producers Mura Masa and Stooki Sound have created yet another subby banger that you can chill to or you can spin into club sets. This one is set to be released on Sep. 17th so keep your eyes peeled!

The minimal, trap influenced bass music is where its at – check this one.

Yung Nation – Shawty Wussup (Murlo Remix)

The English producer Murlo has such a beautiful style of production. His tunes have a club feel but they all maintain certain universal appeal that stretches further than the club music lovers. This remix is truly amazing. It’s club ready, but the vibes are so nice that honestly playing this tune in any setting could make sense. Out for free, just click the link below!

Hybrid Theory – “Whats Going Down”

hybrid theory

Dope sounds coming from the Birmingham producer Hybrid Theory!

This tune has everything you would need to get the crowd moving. The groovy shuffle, the positive vibes, and a nice housey vocal! This ones got me moving in my seat as I write this post. No news on a release for this one but we’ll keep you posted if anything changes. Big ups to Hybrid Theory and if you dig it check out more of his tunes on his soundcloud HERE. Don’t sleep on this awesome artist!!

Cotti – Elusive

Here is a new one from the UK dubstep artist Cotti!  This track is large.  We’ve all heard the sounds of Cotti for the last few years, but this new track Elusive is some of my favorite work I’ve heard from him by far.  Cotti mixes the sound of this track up real nice by dramatically flowing from a heavy reggae vibe into a true wobble skank session in the second half of the preview.  This is gonna be coming out on Sumting New Records so keep your eyes out for this one!

MIK Versus Kahn – The Mix

MIK, UK, Brixton, Kahn,

Ok grime fans… This one’s for you. Brixton killah soundboy Kahn has teamed with the sinister word smith MIK on this simply filthy mix. If you don’t know already, MIK is one of the hardest hitting MCs coming out of the UK grime culture. With support from his crew Family Tree including MCs Merky Ace, Ego, TKO and Shifman and in-house producers Faze Miyake and Splurt, MIK spills lyrical genius into his music. This mix is that fire.

Dubamine – Bust ‘Em EP – Out Now!!

Bust 'Em Art

We are proud to announce Ganjaology’s first release with multi-talented creator Dubamine! The Bust ‘Em EP features four tracks filled with drippy synths, crisp percussion, and bubbling dub baselines – all packaged into a visionary dub selector’s dream pack. Whether your tastes tend toward the heavier side of dubstep or the more reggae influenced, vibes oriented rub-a-dub stylee, the Bust ‘Em EP has something for you.

Native to Santa Cruz, based in New York – 22 year old Lucas Heinel is Dubamine. Already receiving accolade from some of the scene’s heaviest hitting DJs, the sound boy is on track to be one of the hottest up and coming artists of 2013. His tune “Wicked Dub” was recently featured on a mix by legendary UK selector, Cessman. With plans to release a series of EPs followed by a feature length album through Ganjaology Records, Heinel has his work cut out for him.

When asked, “Why Dubamine?” – Heinel replied that the name highlights the idea that within each of our brains is a little receptor specifically targeted to resonate with the sounds of dub. The Bust’em EP, available for free download June 1st, is just a teaser of what this sound boy scientist can do. We invite you to awaken your consciousness with a pure dose of Dubamine!

To get things started, the first track entitled Bust ‘Em sets the precedent for this sinister sound pack. The track features classic vocal samples carefully inlaid atop a burping bass line, smacking drums and a stack of spacey dub synths. Bouncy and delicious, this one definitely defies gravity.

Next up is another round of dopeness, aptly titled Dro. Featuring an acapella of E40’s “Pimpin Smokin Dro”, this hard hitting track will surely find it’s way into the crates of many.

For those that thought the EP wasn’t quite gutter enough, the tune Gutter Punk certainly exceeds expectation. Heavy synths and smacking snares characterize this dastardly track.

Lastly, we have Dubamine’s self proclaimed favorite of the release, Vita Mon C VIP. Throw this one in the mix for a straight to the vein dose of Dubamine’s vital dubs. One question, “Are you feeling alright!?”
