Daega Sound – Under Pressure EP [12″ Drops 9/15 on TUBA NYC]

Tuba NYC, Daega Sound, Ganjaology

BC bass music creators Daega Sound prepare for their newest release with NYC future dub label TUBA. The release, set to drop September 15th on 12″ vinyl and digital, features three stellar tracks which clearly demonstrate the creative talent held by brothers Ben and Josh Searles aka Daega Sound.

Each track featured on the EP has its own unique blend of sound while together they create a fully complete release. Technical drumming drives the tunes while deep sub bass and curious atmospherics lay the ground work. Intelligent melodies carry us home.

Have a listen to the preview here and be sure to grab a copy on digital or vinyl when it drops next month. Also, be sure to check out more from TUBA NYC. These guys are really doing some exciting things. Their catalogue includes releases from J:Kenzo, Truth, Compa, DJG, Moldy, Juss B, Subreachers, Prism, AxH, & D-Operation Drop, among others.

J-Path – Threshing Ground (Trigram 01)

Dub-Steppers and Reggae Heads Unite!

This release, coming from the heads at Steppas Records aka Trigram, is a nice blend between deep dubstep and reggae. These guys have been putting out awesome bass music, pressing it to vinyl, and spreading it to the world for quite some time now. They’re coming at the scene with their latest release with Seoul, South Korea Native J-Path. The A-side of the release is the wonderful release with a bit of a percussive swing to it, and the B-side is the talented Alpha Steppa’s remix of tune. Check out these vibey tunes below and grab the release on vinyl if your decks are hungry for fresh acetate!

Compa – Kalindi / Antact

Super dark vibes comin’ from Compa on this one. A majority of what I’ve been listening to lately has been minimal dubstep, it can get semi-repetitive due to the slight similarity in percussion, yet Compa always brings something new to the scene. Antact has his classic gritty sound but also brings in a upbeat drum sequence that’ll definitely get your head bobbing. Really hope this one gets a digital release, but will for sure be forthcoming on vinyl soon. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Mieux! – “Next Episode”

Really diggin this one right now. I wish I could get it for electronic download but its only available on vinyl! Guess I’m just gonna have to start spinnin vinyl… Enough about me this tune is sick and big ups the Vienna producer Mieux!

Compa – “Spektor”

This tune is huge. The Manchester based producer compa has killed it in a minimal dark way. Not only does this guy spin solely on vinyl, production-wise has quite an interesting sound to say the least. His drum work puts you in an almost entranced state, which is then driven along by these interesting wobble patterns that are not only appeal aurally but make you think as well. This ones a stinkah so throw it on, turn it up and let it fill your room with positive darkness.
