Ganjaology Presents: Pussy Brunch – Chronic Kitty [MIXTAPE]

If you aren’t already familiar with the infamous ladies of Pussy Brunch, you’re in for a wild ride. This pair of bad girls take bedroom beats to a whole new level. We had the pleasure of kicking it with them during their set at What The Festival last month. It was ridiculously fun dancing to their stellar sound, and so – we decided to do a mixtape!

Hailing from the Labia Majora, Pussy Brunch’s Teagan Thais and Lauren Clayton are holding it down for the real hood. Their space crunkin’, booty whomp knockin’, bacon beats, are served along with a healthy side of turnt-up toast & twerky jerky. Their hand crafted blends of hyphy & thump chronic smackers, move through the speakers & stimulate your feelers. Bring extra panties caus’ their pu$$ypoppin beats will leave ya dripping to top off the cream in your coffee.

Peep the mix below, and please note: This is a PARENTAL ADVISORY release. Haha, seriously though. It’s good. It’s fucking good. So go ahead, prep those drawls and turn up that appetite for…

DJ Professor Stone – WTF?! DJ Mix from the OMG Lounge

Just a couple weeks ago one of the North West’s most notorious music fesitvals, What The Festival?!, was going full force down in Oregon.  With dozens of top notch artists from around the world performing, it was pretty difficult to make it everywhere you wanted when you planned and often times I found myself at a stage listening to music from an artist I was previously unfamiliar with.   One of the best instances of stumbling upon a “surprise performance” was when our crew made a quick stop by the OMG Lounge and DJ Professor Stone was throwing down some heavy, bass drive, reggae inspired dubstep & trap.  There were so many jaw dropping tunes coming back to back that our original plans were immediately cancelled and the OMG Lounge was our final destination for the evening.  Representing Seattle’s, ZION GATE RECORDS, DJ Professor Stone has been around the reggae scene for several decades now, and is showing that he’s still in his prime.  His DJ set was versatile, full of heady tunes, and downright fun.   Stone had the whole dance floor quaking!  Check out this mix and feel the vibes from WTF?!!

WTF?! Artist Highlight – Robot Koch

Robot Koch, Ganjaology, What The Festival?!

I don’t want to just ride this stereotype, but I’ll do it anyway… Germans are known to be phenomenal engineers. In keeping with this cultural trend, Berlin producer Robot Koch shines bright on the international dance scene as a producer, creator and engineer of lush, glitchy, exfoliating beats. Reminiscent of the familiar sounds of FlyLo or Shlohmo, Robot Koch is known for his extraordinary ability to infuse organic sound clips into deeply layered electronic music.

Since listening over the past few years, I’ve repeatedly found myself in the discussion about how to accurately pronounce the name – Robot Koch. It is worth noting, koch in German means cook or chef. In this way, the man is literally a digital beat making machine – a Robot Cook. I had the distinct pleasure to get some face time with Mr. Koch a couple months back when he was in Seattle at Nectar Lounge. Of course, I had to ask…

“It’s pronounced Robot Koch [Kaa-ch], like the mayor of New York City, Ed Koch”, states RK.

Now that we’ve got that squared away, let’s get into the music. Many know Robot from his hit tune “Hard to Find” for which there was a viral youtube video featuring imagery of Rain Deer eating the quintessential magic mushroom, Amanita Muscaria. More recently he’s gained attention for his releases with the label Project Mooncircle based in Berlin. His tune “Jupiter” has gained major reach after being shared as a free download on XLR8R.

Check out his music below and be sure to catch his set at What The Festival?! coming up next weekend at Wolf Run Ranch, just south of Portland, OR. See y’all at WTF?! We’ll be up late…

WTF?! Artist Highlight – PRSN

Brice Lowell, PRSN, Ganjaology

I had the pleasure of rolling down to Lightning in a Bottle this past weekend, and damn… What an event!? As usual, Do Lab just does it right. Nice up to the whole team!

While I had the chance to catch some stellar national/international acts, one of my favorite sets came from the homie Brice Lowell of PDX, aka PRSN. I’ve been hearing more and more from this cat over the past year and his sounds are seriously fire. I came home and immediately dug into his soundcloud to get a better ear on what he’s been putting out. This mix was bumping on repeat from one the steeziest vendor booths at the festival, the shared shop belonging to Portland designer Rags To Muffins and Oakland designer P.E.A.C.E. Fits. I had to bring it to the forefront for all you online listeners.

Check out PRSN’s mixtape entitled Third Person here. Look out for this guy this summer. He’ll be performing at What The Festival!? outside Portland, OR at Wolf Fun Ranch.

Turn up and tune in!
